Aryna Sabalenka

Sabalenka was born in Belarus in Minsk. The father of her Sergey (d. in 2019) was an Ice hockey player. Aryna Sabalenka hails from Belarus and was born May 5th 1998. Her career has seen her win twelve WTA singles titles, which includes a Grand Slam in the Australian Open in 2023. In doubles, she is also an outstanding player. She has won two majors along with Elise Mertens, the US Open in 2019 and the Australian Open in 2021. The Sunshine Double was achieved by her and Elise in 2019. Together, they took home WTA 1000s at Indian Wells & Miami. Four couples only managed to achieve this feat in women's doubles. In January of 2023 she surpassed her top ranking in singles. The 23rd day of August, 2021 she was promoted to the second spot in the the world rankings. The Belarusian rose up to the top of the doubles rankings in the year following, having winning at Melbourne. It made her the second Belarusian tennis player to succeed in her field. Dmitry Tursunov coached her between 2018 and the end of 2019 as well as a beginning of 2020. Dieter Kindlmann was also the coach she had for a short period from August to September of 2020. Antonio Dubrov, her fellow nationman, has been her coach since the year 2020. Serena Williams is her role for a role model, closely then Maria Sharapova.
